West Lindsey Branch News - June 2015
Well it's been a busy May, lots of you have notched up a huge amount and variety of firsts. Lots of ringers have enjoyed the challenge of pushing themselves to achieve their next 'firsts'. Several ringers completed a full sheet, please let me have any of your sheets. 'Firsts' included new towers, methods, bells, ringing up/down, 3 quarters in one day, and as you will see from the guild newsletter this also included several first quarters and peals.
We had an enjoyable day out with a good turnout on May bank holiday to the Bourne area, many thanks to Alison, who although had a last minute hiccup, and a quick change round of towers, all ran smoothly on the day. Thanks also go to Janet for giving everyone plenty of opportunities to ring at each tower. There was an interesting mix of towers, including a 10 bell tower at Edenham of which not many of us get the opportunity to ring.
VE70 - There was some ringing from across our branch on 9th May to commemorate 70 years since VE day, thank you to those towers.
The branch practice at Hibaldstow, Scawby & Bottesford was much enjoyed by those attending. Many of us rose to the challenge of ringing at least one, all or some of; Plain bob, Stedman, Coastal Stations and A short cure for melancholy. Thank you to all three towers and to Bottesford for the drinks and facilities to hold our faith tea, which produced a good spread and went down well.
Forthcoming events
June 14/15- Magna Carta Events - Monday 15th June will be the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta on Runnymede Meadows. Sunday 14 June has been designated as the Big Ringing Day, involving lots of ringing at 3pm. (More information available on Ringing world website.)

Please could towers let me know by 13th June if they would like to enter a team, along with any time requests, we hope for as many towers as possible to enter. Also to point out that this years branch competition is not a qualifying competition for Guild entries. Scotter will be organising a tea.
