The recruitment and initial training of new ringers
The skill development of existing ringers
The training of teachers of ringing
The running of courses
The provision of training equipment
The encouragement of young ringers
Other activities and materials directly associated with training.
In addition:
Applications for grants from branches, towers and individuals are encouraged.
Examples include the installation of simulators and dumbells, hire of halls for courses, and, under certain circumstances, a contribution towards course fees.
Grants are awarded to support capital expenditure, but not running costs.
An application form can be downloaded below.
Deadlines for the receipt of applications by Guild secretary: One month prior to Guild committee meeting. If a decision is required urgently, please contact the Guild secretary
When making decisions the Guild committee will have regard to the following criteria:
The committee must be satisfied that the grant offers significant educational benefit and good value for money
Funding is intended to make a difference - ensure that training that otherwise might not happen can go ahead, or to ensure higher quality outcomes.
The Guild will only fund a proportion of the cost of a project - the fund is limited and the benefits need to be spread across the Guild. Also to ensure there is local commitment, without which the project is unlikely to be successful.
All necessary permissions for the project have been obtained.
Details of the training fund have been published previously in a PDF document, which
can be found here.
