Personal Accident Cover

Assured: The Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.

Insured persons: The members of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers whilst carrying out the ringing and maintenance of church bells. Any person under the age of 16 years or above the age of 80 years is NOT covered.

Schedule of benefits:

C4277 Safeguarding of vulnerable persons conditions

It is a ‘condition precedent to liability’’ that anyone working unsupervised with children or vulnerable adults or who have unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults must comply with the following:

(a) the LDGCBR safeguarding policy established for the protection of children and vulnerable adults

(b) the written safeguarding policy is regularly reviewed (at least annually)

(c) all eligible persons working with children and vulnerable adults have undergone Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or equivalent checks at the level appropriate to their role prior to engagement in those duties

(d) all persons working with children and vulnerable adults receive formal induction training and regular (at least annually) update training on safeguarding

Reputational Risk

Covers for ‘Libel and slander’, ‘PR Crisis Communication’ (Limit of indemnity £25,000) and ‘Death of Patron’.

As from 1st January 2001 all paid-up members of the Guild will be covered by a scheme of insurance for Personal Accident and Public Liability risks as outlined below. Any claims arising through ringing activities should be processed through the General Secretary of the Guild.

Personal Accident Cover

Assured :
The Members and Officers for the time being, including their pupils, of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers.
Insured Persons :
Resident Members of the Guild and their pupils. Cover to apply while insured persons are ringing, instructing, maintaining, inspecting or doing work of any description other than major restoration work on towers and/or bells and/or their fittings and framework anywhere in Great Britain (this includes S. lreland and the Channel Islands)
Schedule of Benefits :
Death, Loss of one or both eyes, Loss of one or more limbs, permanent total disablement and temporary total disablement.
Insured Persons under 16 : Death benefit £250 and excluding temporary total disablement.
Insured persons over 70 : Death benefits only.
A Capital Sum £10,000
1 £100 per week temporary total disablement payable 104 weeks.

Public Liability Cover

Insured Persons :
As above for Personal Accident and including Member to Member liability. Cover to include other activities associated therewith as a charitable organisation.
Limit of Indemnity :
£1,000,000.
