R.I.P. - Neville Sharpe
Update from Jim Benner
The arrangements have now been made for Neville Sharpe’s funeral which is as follows:
Wednesday 6th July, service at 11.30am, Skillington
Open ringing from 10.30am
Peal by Lincoln Guild members immediately afterwards
After the service there will be light refreshments at The Nags Head, Saltby.
It would help with arrangements for seating in the church and for catering, (but is not essential) if people are able to let Liz Carter know if they intend to come, via email please at [email protected]
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Neville Sharpe of Grantham and Skillington died peacefully in Boston hospital last night. He was 78. Neville has been a Southern branch member for over 50 years and would rarely miss a branch meeting. He had a love of ringing Doubles methods, and of his beloved bells at Skillington where he rang 45 peals, circling the tower nine times in the process.
Neville’s funeral is not likely to take place until late in June, but once arrangements have been made I will let you all know.
I know he will be sadly missed by us all, and our thoughts go out to Christine and his family at this very sad time.
