CENTRAL BRANCH VIRTUAL PRACTICE AT DUNHOLME - 10TH OCTOBER 2020

Well, it's almost time for another virtual practice again - and this time we'll be visiting Dunholme on Saturday 10th October, starting at 1930 (or 7:30pm if you prefer). For those who've not been to a virtual bellringing practice before, come along and join in the fun, even if it's to watch or just say a quick hello. You will be made most welcome.

This practice will cater for all abilities from rounds upwards, so don't be shy, come and join us online via the following links:

Zoom Passcode (if required): 068779

In case you need some assistance in getting online, here are some step by step instructions on how to register and join Ringing Room and open the Zoom meeting on your computer:

If you're new to Ringing Room please follow the below steps, but if you already have a Ringing Room login please skip to Step 3:

Step 1: Well before the meeting, open Chrome (or your favourite web browser) and go to www.ringingroom.com

Step 2: Register with and log into Ringing Room.

On the Day of the Meeting

Step 3: Enter the "virtual" Dunholme tower by clicking on this link: https://ringingroom.com/567821394/dunholme

We have found that Ringing Room doesn't always work well on tablets so you're best using a PC or laptop instead.

Step 4: Start the Zoom meeting by clicking on this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82540165883?pwd=ZjdPOVMrSldFU0ZnV01xYlpzK3ZLUT09

If you already have the Zoom app on your PC, click on Launch Zoom Meeting

If you don't have the Zoom app, click "Download and run Zoom". An executable file will download which you need to run. In Chrome this appears bottom left of your screen, and if using Edge, you will see a box appear at the bottom of your screen - just click on Run

Zoom will then install and you will be joined to the meeting.

If prompted, click "enable internet audio", and make sure your webcam is enabled so we can see you.

What is Ringing Room? It's a website which enables you to grab hold of a virtual rope and ring your bell with other ringers across the Branch/Guild/World!

And why do I need Zoom? Zoom is so we can all see/chat (and laugh) with each other, decide what we are going to ring, and solve any teething problems, etc.

What else do I need to know? Frequently Asked Questions about Ringing Room can be found here, but don't worry, all you need to know will be explained on the day.

If you need help with any of the above, please call Sandra Underwood on 07710 772458 who will be pleased to help.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Best wishes.

Sandra Underwood (on behalf of the Central Branch Committee)
