Mayor Making Ceremony

805th MAYOR OF LINCOLN

On Tuesday 24th May 2011 the annual City Mayor Making Ceremony took place at the City Guildhall, where the new Mayor of Lincoln is sworn in too office, a tradition dating back to 1206. Immediately after the Mayor Making Ceremony had taken place a quarter peal was rung upon the bells of the Parish & Civic Church of St Mary le Wigford, which stands on the High Street in the City centre, to welcome the new Mayor, Councillor Kathleen Brothwell, as the 805th Right Worshipful Mayor of Lincoln. We wish her well during her term in office and hope she has an enjoyable and successful year as Mayor of Lincoln.
