Central Branch meeting at Branston, 12th July 2014

Well what a pleasant day for some bell ringing. This was the Central Branch meeting at All Saints, Branston, which are an excellent ring of six, although quite a long draft, so can be a little challenging.

Ringing at All Saints, Branston
Strawberry teas

When I turned up there was a great many strawberry based delicacies for us to feast upon and a bargain at only 4, with tea and coffee thrown in. Yvonne Woodcock was busy serving up while Richard Spencer got the ringing going.

And ring we did. Lots of Rounds and call changes for the less experienced amoung us and some Plain Bob, Cambridge Surprise and Norwich for those who fancied something a bit more challenging.

About three quarters of the way through the evening, we stopped and had a very short business meeting. This was largely to propose some new members from Dunholme. The raffle was drawn and won by Keith Gladman.

Hannah Watts from Welton (one of our youngest ringers) talks to two of our oldest ringers, Jim Sutherland and Ron Applewhite who is a mere 94 years young.

Ringing continued further until 8:00pm when we rung the bells down and having thanked Yvonne Woodcock, Sue Waterfall and the other helpers for the splendid strawberry teas, we made our way home.
