Guild Inter Branch 8 bell striking competition rules

All ringers must be members of the Guild, and no-one shall ring for more than one branch, and no branch should enter a team containing fewer than 6 persons who are resident in that Branch.

The contest shall be rung on 8 bells, the method and touch having been decided by the Guild Committee at a previous committee meeting.

Three minutes are allowed to enable the band to get the feel of the bells. The bells must then be stood. As a signal to the judge a few strokes shall be rung on the treble immediately before ringing the test piece.

The conductor may stop and re-start the attempt provided not more than thirty two changes have been rung. A penalty shall be awarded for such action.

The judge’s decision is final
