Ron Applewhites 92nd Birthday Quarter Peal

On Wednesday 25th January 2012 a quarter peal of Plain Bob Minor was successfully rung at St. Andrews Potterhanworth by the local band to celebrate the 92nd Birthday of Ron Applewhite, who is a long standing and loyal member of the local band.

The quarter was rung on the eve of Rons 92nd birthday and Ron rang the fourth to the quarter peal. Ron has now rung quarter peals each year at Potterhanworth for his 90th, 91st and now 92nd birthday which is quite impressive and he has told us all to put the date in our diaries for next year! Ron is the oldest ringing member of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers and was made an honorary life member of the Guild back in 2004.
