The Lincolnshire Poachers travelled down to Worcester, in order to take part in the Ringing World National Youth Contest. Whilst there, we rang at a variety of different towers including the impressive Worcester Cathedral - where we also were very interested in the other additional activities that were available for us to learn about and take part in - there was even a handbell-ringing robot.

We all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in ringing with new people and getting to know new bells from which we all walked away with new skills and bell handling techniques - particularly from the Cathedral. Our actual competition piece was rung at St Martins church, and we all agreed that it was the best we had ever rung that piece together.

As well as all this, we were able to enjoy walking through Worcester during the day as well which gave us many opportunities for team photos.

A great day out

After not seeing each other for a year up until a few weeks before the competition, the team was just happy to be back together and ringing and hope we can continue to compete in the competitions to come.

Lastly, a heartfelt thank-you to the Guild and branches for sponsoring the trip and team T-shirts.
