On Wednesday 8th June, a group of ringers turned up at St. Swithin, Bicker to ring a peal, to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the death of Rifleman Richard Bloodworth Machin, aged 18, who died, serving his country, on June 7th 1916. Bicker Parish Council presented a wreath which was placed on the belfry tower steps on the anniversary of his death. Richard was a member of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild and was a ringer at Bicker. He is commemorated in the Bellringer's Roll of Honour.
